1. Challenge list
Challenges are grouped by category and point value. The items inside each category are shuffled into a fresh order whenever you reload the page. Tap anywhere on an available challenge row—not just the circle—to add photo proof.
2. Challenge scoring
Accepted proof awards the point value shown on that challenge. Pending proof does not score yet. Rejected proof can be replaced while the hunt is live. Accepted proof can be opened again from its challenge row.
The standard values are Common +1, Uncommon +2, Rare +5, and Jackpot +10.
3. Extra Points
While the hunt is live, eligible players get an Extra Points section with two choices: Vote or Add challenge. Both affect the same official score shown on the leaderboard.
Vote
EyesPie may show you two anonymized accepted photos from other players and ask which one wins. You never vote on your own photo. A completed vote gives +3 points to you and +3 points to the owner of the photo you selected. The losing photo does not lose points.
Each matchup is single-use, expires, and belongs to the voter who received it. EyesPie intentionally avoids showing the same submission to the same voter twice. Skipping a matchup does not make those two photos eligible to be shown to you again.
Add challenge
A player-added challenge becomes part of the live hunt for everybody, including the player who added it. When the challenge is successfully created, its creator immediately earns half of that challenge’s point value, rounded up to the nearest whole point. Completing the challenge still requires accepted photo proof and awards the challenge’s normal value separately.
| Tier | Cost to add | Creator reward | Challenge value | Per-player limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | Free | +1 | +1 | 4 |
| Uncommon | 1 point | +1 | +2 | 3 |
| Rare | 4 points | +3 | +5 | 2 |
| Jackpot | 9 points | +5 | +10 | 1 |
Paid-tier costs are still checked against and deducted from the creator’s current score when the new challenge is successfully added. The creator reward is awarded in the same server transaction. That means the immediate net score changes are Common +1, Uncommon 0, Rare −1, and Jackpot −4, but you must have the full listed add cost before creating a paid-tier challenge.
The allowance is per player, so one person using a Jackpot add does not consume anybody else’s Jackpot add. If a proposed challenge is rejected because the same challenge already exists, your limit is already used, you do not have enough points, the hunt is not live, or another validation check fails, the server does not deduct the cost, award the creator reward, or consume the allowance.
4. Standings
Players rank by total points. Total score can include accepted challenge points, +3-point voting awards, +3-point photo-owner vote awards, creator rewards from player-added challenges, and deductions from paid player-added challenges. If total points tie, completed-find count is the next tiebreaker, followed by the game’s existing deterministic ordering.
5. Friendly
Friendly mode is for bragging rights. Nobody pays to enter and there are no EyesPie cash payouts. The host still controls the start and end of the hunt and evidence review.
6. Wager mode
Wager mode uses the displayed buy-in. A wager hunt needs at least four paid players before it can start. Final payout details and the payout breakdown are shown after the hunt ends.
Extra Points affects the same leaderboard used for Wager-mode placement, so votes, creator rewards, and point spending can change final prize positions.
7. Default wager prizes
Under the default Smart split, third place keeps one full buy-in. First and second also begin with one-buy-in bases, and the remaining base Smart pool is weighted 80% to first and 20% to second. After that regular Smart award is calculated, an amount equal to 9% of one buy-in is subtracted from first place. Second place stays unchanged. The host can choose a supported custom percentage or fixed-dollar split before the hunt starts; the extra first-place adjustment is Smart-only. Prize settings lock at start.
8. Ties and payouts
If players tie on both total points and completed-find count across prize positions, EyesPie combines the affected prizes and splits them evenly, subject to cent rounding. After the final amounts lock, a winner whose prize is no greater than their qualifying entry can receive it as an automatic full or partial refund to the original payment method with no Stripe Connect setup. A winner whose prize is greater than what they paid in uses Stripe Connect. See Wager rules & payouts for the detailed money flow.
9. Host controls and ending the hunt
Only the host can use the Host tab. Non-host players see that control disabled. The host controls invitations, starting and ending the hunt, pre-start wager prize settings, and evidence review. When the host ends a live hunt, final standings lock and any remaining pending proof can no longer change the result, so EyesPie surfaces pending-photo status before the final confirmation.
10. Player-added challenge conduct
Adding a challenge does not override venue rules, consent, safety, or these Terms. Do not use player-added challenges to target or harass a specific person, demand illegal activity, encourage dangerous behavior, request non-consensual intimate content, or create a task that should not reasonably be part of the hunt.
11. Finale, album and trip story
The shared album stays sealed during the live hunt so players cannot browse everybody else’s proof. It opens after the host ends the hunt. The post-game finale reveals the podium, personal stats, achievements and hunt superlatives. The album can be filtered to Best, Mine, Jackpot or Rare and shows each photo’s peer-vote win count.
The curated Highlights reel favors the hunt’s strongest voted/Rare/Jackpot moments while spreading attention across players. The full Trip Story remains available for the complete accepted-photo experience and uses its remixed sequencing and challenge-specific captions.
12. Safety
No challenge overrides common sense or venue rules. Do not trespass, drive distracted, harass people, damage property, steal, provoke fights, or put yourself or anyone else in danger for points.
